. With the usual don’t-update-enough disclaimer. From now on, that’s a given, and I won’t mention it. I’ve been too tired/depressed/busy to write recently. Lucky for you (all.. one.. of you that reads this) that schedule gets bumped back a bit, so now I have more time.

. Some highlights of recent events: Yesterday, Hop and I spent several hours hunting groundhogs with a couple of spears. Not normal groundhogs, mind you. One in particular that’s been on the compound for /years/ is the size of a small-ish labrador retriever. We have named him(?) Norbert, and he is the target of many thrown rocks. Rather than run away, he sits up taller and glares; seemingly daring us to come within biting range. We also recaptured the shift fridge and had slurpees. All-in-all, a good day was had by all.

. We switched the office and the master bedroom around. I just finally realised how much I hate stuff that’s not bedroom-related being in a room that should be dedicated to.. well, being a bedroom. Seriously, our bedroom looked like a college dorm (Although, I suppose most dorm rooms don’t have a sewing machine in them). The final straw was when stuff from Amy’s business moved in there as well. Silly, I say.

. I think a fan is dying in the main fileserver, because it just started making a hideous noise that I can hear from the living room (the rack’s off the laundry room). I’m glad I ordered some last week.. too bad they won’t be here until tomorrow. I also grabbed a bulk-lot of CPUs off of our favorite online auction emporium. There should be two new ~1ghz class boxen in the rack soon. Pictures of new gear and rack-based services to follow.

. Links for today:
. Dell Computers preloaded with Ubuntu – Not just pre-loaded; Full support provided by Dell and Canonical! Additionally, the prices are awesome. I think I know where my next laptop’s coming from.
. apple_evolution.jpg 3435×2280 pixels – Very cool graphic that charts the 31-year history of Apple hardware products, from the Apple I to the iPhone. Would make for a fun poster.
. Linux Software repositories at Google – Google released it’s major apps (Picasa, Google Earth, etc) for linux. Now they have their own repositories for use by apt.. And other package managers that I don’t use.
